Link in bio for beauty and skincare creators

For beauty and skincare creators: link every shade and product you mention, answer which-shade questions from your videos, and see which video earned.

Updated

Beauty creators mention more products per video than almost anyone, often with a specific shade, finish or size for each, and fans ask about every one. A good link in bio lets people find the exact product you used in a few seconds and tells you which videos turned that interest into commission. It should also answer the "which shade?" questions without promising results your fans may not get.

The real problem

A single "get ready with me" video can mention 15 products. A haul can mention 40. Each commission is small, often a few dollars, so the money comes from volume across many videos. That makes two questions matter more than usual:

  1. Can a fan find the exact product, in the exact shade, quickly?
  2. Which videos actually earn, as opposed to which get the most clicks?

Big hauls tend to get lots of browsing clicks. A focused "my holy grail serum" video may get fewer clicks but convert far better. You only see that if sales are reported per video.

Setting up a beauty video

On camera

Give each video a word, like vyrl.at/yourname/glow, and say it: "Every shade is on my page, vyrl dot at slash yourname slash glow." Say shade names out loud as you apply them. It helps viewers, and it puts the shade in your transcript, which the assistant below uses.

Disclose on camera too. The FTC says a video endorsement needs its disclosure in the video, not only in the description, and that free or discounted products count (FTC: Disclosures 101). More in affiliate disclosure for videos.

In the description or caption

Put the video address first. Then list products in the order they appear, with the shade:

Shop this look: vyrl.at/yourname/glow
Primer: [brand, product]
Foundation: [brand, product], shade [name]
Lip: [brand, product], shade [name]

On your page

Name each link the way you say it on camera, shade included. "Foundation, shade 220" beats "My foundation." If a product comes in many shades, add one link per shade you actually use instead of one link to the general product.

In your bio

Use a share link for each place: vyrl.at/yourname/tt for TikTok, vyrl.at/yourname/ig for Instagram. They combine with video words, so vyrl.at/yourname/glow/tt credits both the video and the place.

Share only Vyrl addresses. A raw affiliate link skips Vyrl, so the sale can't be matched to a click or a video.

Which networks

Beauty retailers and brands run affiliate programs on many networks, and some use different networks in different countries. Check the brand's own affiliate page for the current one. Vyrl receives sales from Impact, CJ, Awin and Everflow by postback, and from Amazon by uploading the Earnings report. For programs on other networks, Vyrl still counts clicks per video, and the sales stay in that network's dashboard.

Answering "what shade is that?"

The "Ask me" assistant on your page answers fan questions from your own video transcripts. Ask it "what serum did she use in the night routine?" and it names the product, cites the moment in the video and links it, but only if you've confirmed that product. It shows your affiliate disclosure with the link.

It is careful with personal claims. Shade match, undertone and skin type depend on the person. When something worked for you because of who you are, the assistant says what you tried and your own details, for example that you have an olive undertone and combination skin, and doesn't tell the fan it will suit them unless you said so. If you never covered something, it says you haven't covered it yet instead of guessing.

Fans can also add you to Claude and other AI apps that support MCP connectors, and ask about your videos from there.

What you'll see

The dashboard shows commission and earnings per click (EPC) by video, by link and by place. For example, a 40-product haul with 1,200 clicks and $48 in commission earns $0.04 per click. A single-serum review with 180 clicks and $54 earns $0.30. There is also a live click feed and a daily email with the previous day's revenue.

Per-link numbers help too. If one shade of a foundation gets most of the clicks, that's useful to know before your next brand conversation. Vyrl also has a media kit and a brand offers marketplace.

What Vyrl doesn't do

  • It doesn't replace your network's reporting. Networks approve sales, handle returns and pay you.
  • It doesn't see sales made inside TikTok Shop or other in-app shops.
  • It doesn't sell your own digital products, like presets or guides, with a checkout. Link to wherever you sell them.
  • The assistant doesn't give skincare advice. It only repeats what you said in your videos.

Pricing

Free forever for one page, unlimited links and click analytics by link and source. Revenue per video, postbacks, the AI assistant and the daily revenue email are on the Creator plan: $4/month, or $3.20/month billed yearly in the US, and less in many countries. You keep 100% of your commission. See pricing.

Questions

How should beauty creators organize affiliate links?

Name each link exactly as you say it on camera, including the shade or size, and group links by video or routine. Fans arrive looking for one specific product and leave if they can't spot it quickly.

Do I have to disclose free PR products?

Yes. The FTC says that if a brand gives you free or discounted products and you then mention one of its products, you should disclose it, even if you weren't paid.

Can an AI answer shade questions without misleading fans?

It can if it only repeats what you said and makes clear it worked for you. Shade and skin type results vary, so an honest answer describes your experience rather than promising the fan the same result.

Can I see which beauty video made the most commission?

Yes, if each click is tied to a video and your affiliate network reports sales back with that click's ID. Clicks alone often favor big haul videos that convert poorly.
