Everflow Postback Setup: Track Sales by Video with sub1
Add a global server postback in the Everflow partner portal with {sub1}, {conversion_id} and {payout_amount} so each sale maps to its click and video.
Updated
To track Everflow sales by video, send each click to the offer with a unique click ID in sub1, then add a global server postback in the Everflow partner portal that returns {sub1} along with {conversion_id}, {sale_amount}, {payout_amount} and {offer_currency}. Everflow fills in those macros on every conversion, so the sale arrives tied to the click, and the video, that sent the buyer.
Everflow is the software many brands and networks use to run their partner programs. Each program has its own partner portal and login, so you set up the postback once per portal, not once per brand you ever work with.
How Everflow sub IDs work
Everflow tracking links accept sub ID parameters named sub1, sub2 and so on. Whatever you put in them is stored with the click and can be returned in a postback. A link tagged by hand for one video looks like this, on the program's own tracking domain:
https://track.example.com/ABC123/XYZ789/?sub1=storm-video
A fixed value per video works for a few videos. For more detail, a link tool can put a fresh click ID in sub1 on every click. Then the postback tells you not only the video but the exact click, including where it came from.
If a tool adds sub1 for you, paste the Everflow link into it without sub1.
The Everflow macros
Everflow uses curly-brace macros. These are the ones that matter for sales tracking:
| Postback field | Everflow macro | What it carries |
|---|---|---|
| click_id | {sub1} |
The value in sub1 on the clicked link |
| order_id | {conversion_id} |
Everflow's ID for the conversion |
| sale_amount | {sale_amount} |
The sale amount, when the advertiser shares it |
| commission | {payout_amount} |
Your payout for the conversion |
| currency | {offer_currency} |
The offer's currency |
Everflow partner postbacks don't include a status macro. Each sale is sent once, when it converts.
Step 1: Add the global postback
- Log in to the program's Everflow partner portal and open Postbacks.
- Add a new postback.
- Choose Global so it covers every offer you run in this portal.
- Choose a server postback URL, not a pixel or an HTML tag.
- Choose the base conversion as the event.
- Paste your postback URL and save.
Menu names can differ slightly between portals, because each program can brand its own. Look for Postbacks under your account or tools menu.
What the URL looks like
If you use Vyrl, connect Everflow under Networks. Vyrl fills in Everflow's macros for you, so the URL is ready to paste as it is:
https://vyrl.at/postback/everflow/YOUR-SECRET?click_id={sub1}&order_id={conversion_id}&sale_amount={sale_amount}&commission={payout_amount}¤cy={offer_currency}
There is no status parameter, so every Everflow sale counts as approved.
When sale amounts don't come through
Everflow only passes the sale amount to partners when the advertiser allows it. If the advertiser keeps order values private, {sale_amount} won't give you a usable number.
You have two choices:
- Ask your account manager to share sale amounts with partners.
- Replace
{sale_amount}with0in the URL. Your commission still arrives through{payout_amount}, which is the number you earn.
With option 2 you lose average order value for that program, but commission and earnings per click still work.
Refunds and reversals
Everflow sends a partner postback once per sale and doesn't report refunds. A sale that is later refunded stays counted on your side. If a program has a high return rate, compare your totals with the program's own payout report each month. That report, not your tracking tool, is what you get paid on.
Step 2: Test the postback
- Tap one of your own tracked links so a real click exists.
- Send a test conversion from the portal if it offers one, or make a small real purchase.
- In Vyrl, a matched sale shows in revenue within a minute, credited to that click.
If the test sale arrives but isn't linked to a click, the test probably used a sample sub1 value rather than your real click ID. A real purchase through your own link is the surest check.
Common problems
- No sales at all. Check you chose a server postback, not a pixel, and that it is set to Global.
- Sales without clicks. The buyer clicked a raw Everflow link you shared somewhere, so
sub1was empty. Share your tracked link instead. - Wrong macro syntax. Everflow only replaces its own curly-brace macros. A macro from another network, such as Impact's
{SubId1}, won't be filled in. - Several portals. If you promote offers from two Everflow-powered programs, add the postback in each portal.
Using Vyrl with Everflow
In Vyrl, add your Everflow links under Links and set Affiliate network to Everflow. Vyrl appends sub1= with its own click ID on every click, and the prefilled postback sends each sale back against that click. You then see commission and earnings per click by video, by link and by place, next to sales from Impact and Awin programs. Postbacks are part of the Creator plan; see pricing.
Questions
Which Everflow macro returns my click ID?
{sub1} returns the value that was in the sub1 parameter of the tracking link that was clicked. Put your click ID there and the postback hands it back.
Should I pick a global or an offer-specific postback in Everflow?
Global, in most cases. A global partner postback fires for conversions on every offer you run in that portal, so you don't need a new postback for each offer.
Why is the sale amount zero in my Everflow postbacks?
Everflow only passes sale amounts when the advertiser lets partners see them. Ask your account manager, or set sale_amount to 0 so your commission still comes through.
Does Everflow report refunds by postback?
No. An Everflow partner postback is sent once per sale and refunds are not reported back, so a refunded sale stays counted until you reconcile it against the program's own reports.
