Tracking affiliate sales

Later's Link in Bio analytics cover page views, button clicks, post clicks and click-through rate, with views by location. Later also runs its own creator affiliate program, where you pick products from brands in its network and see clicks, sales and commission for those links in real time. If the brands you promote are in Later's program, that works well.

If your commissions come from Amazon Associates, Impact, CJ, Awin or Everflow directly, Later doesn't receive those sales. Its pricing page offers a Google Analytics connection for traffic and ecommerce sales, which helps on your own store but doesn't see commission paid by a network.

Vyrl takes the sale from the network itself. You connect a network and paste a postback URL into its settings. Vyrl adds the network's sub ID parameter to every click with its own click ID (subId1 for Impact, sid for CJ, sub1 for Everflow, clickref for Awin, ascsubtag for Amazon). When the sale happens, the network sends it to Vyrl, matched to that click. Amazon doesn't send postbacks, so you upload its Earnings report CSV and Vyrl matches rows by Sub Tag.

Sales by video

Later deserves credit here. Its linked posts turn your page into a copy of your feed, and you can see how many clicks each linked Instagram or TikTok post received. That's closer to per-video data than most link-in-bio tools offer.

The limits are that it's clicks only and it depends on the post being linked on your Later page. Linked posts come from Instagram (including Reels) and TikTok, so a YouTube video or Short doesn't get its own row.

Vyrl works the same way on every platform. Each video gets a word, like vyrl.at/yourname/storm, that you say on camera or put in the description. Every click and sale from that visit is credited to that video. Share links add the place, so vyrl.at/yourname/storm/yt and vyrl.at/yourname/storm/tt are counted separately.

An example: a Reel and a TikTok of the same video each get 300 clicks. Later would show 300 and 300. Vyrl might show the Reel earned $45 and the TikTok $9, because one audience buys and the other browses. The Shorts and Reels guide covers how to act on that.

Page speed and privacy

Later Link in Bio pages are measured automatically for page weight and trackers, and the results are shown above this text.

Vyrl pages are plain HTML with no JavaScript, served from Cloudflare's edge cache, and typically under 50 KB. They set no cookies and load no third-party trackers. Unique visitors are counted with a daily-changing salted hash, and IP addresses are never stored.

Pricing

Later's plans are priced for social media management. Starter is $25 a month, or $18.75 a month billed yearly, and includes one social set, scheduling up to 30 posts per profile, 5 AI credits a month and Link in Bio without Later branding. Growth is $37.50 a month billed yearly and Scale is $82.50 a month billed yearly. Annual billing saves 25%.

Vyrl's Creator plan is $4 a month or $3.20 billed yearly in the US, and cheaper in many countries, as low as $2 a month. It includes revenue per video, affiliate postbacks, a custom domain, giveaways, the AI agent, CSV export and the daily revenue email. See pricing.

If you pay for Later to schedule posts, its Link in Bio comes with it. If you'd only be paying for the link page, Later is an expensive way to get one.

When Later is the better choice

  • You schedule posts in Later already. Link in Bio is part of the same account, and posts you schedule can update your page automatically.
  • Your page should look like your Instagram grid. Later's linked posts let fans tap the post they saw and land on its link.
  • You want per-post clicks for Instagram and TikTok without extra setup. Later counts them from the posts you link.
  • You manage a team or several brands. Later's paid plans include approvals, social inbox and analytics across profiles.
  • Your affiliate brands are in Later's network. You get sale tracking for those links in one place.

Vyrl is the better fit when commission from outside networks is the goal and you want sales tracked by video across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram alike.

How to switch from Later Link in Bio to Vyrl

  1. Create a free Vyrl page and add your links. For network links, use the clean affiliate link without the sub ID parameter, because Vyrl adds its own.
  2. Connect your affiliate networks and paste the postback URLs into their settings. Tap your own Vyrl link and send a test conversion. It shows in revenue within a minute.
  3. Create a share link for each place you post, such as /tt for TikTok, and replace your linkin.bio address in each bio. The video links and share links guide explains the format.
  4. Give each new video a word and say it on camera or put it in the caption or description.
  5. You can keep using Later for scheduling. Only the bio link changes.

After the switch, share only Vyrl links. A raw network link can't be matched to a click or a video.
