Link in bio for TikTok creators
How TikTok creators can make their one bio link show which video drove each click and affiliate sale, and what TikTok requires before you can add it.
Updated
TikTok gives you one clickable link, in your bio, so that link has to carry every product you mention and still tell you which video sent the buyer. A link-in-bio page handles the first part. Knowing which TikTok earned the commission needs more: each click must be tied to a video, and your affiliate network has to report the sale back.
First, can you add a bio link?
TikTok's Help Center says you can add a website link to your profile if you have at least 1,000 followers or a verified business account (TikTok Help Center). You add it in Profile, then Edit profile, then Links. Third-party guides disagree on whether switching to a plain business account is enough, so check the app rather than relying on a blog post.
Until you qualify, your videos can still point people somewhere. Say a short address out loud and show it on screen. People who want the product will type it.
The problem with one bio link
A viewer watches a video, taps your profile, taps your link and buys. Your link tool records a click from TikTok. Your network records a sale. Nothing connects that sale to the video.
If you post every day, that gap gets expensive. You can't tell whether the product demo or the "things I regret buying" video earned the $80 last week, so you can't make more of what works.
The setup
1. Put a TikTok share link in your bio
Use vyrl.at/yourname/tt as your bio link instead of the plain page address. Every click and sale from it is credited to TikTok. If you post the same page on Instagram or YouTube, give each its own share link, and you get a clean comparison by place.
2. Give each video a word
Each video gets a word, like vyrl.at/yourname/storm. You can use it two ways on TikTok:
- Say it and show it. Put it in a text overlay and say it. Viewers who type it land on your page, credited to that video.
- Swap your bio link. When a video takes off, change your bio link to
vyrl.at/yourname/storm/tt. Everyone who taps through while it's your top video is credited to it and to TikTok. Switch back, or to the next video, when the views slow.
Words and share links combine, so you never lose the "which place" data when you add the "which video" data.
3. Connect your networks
Sales come back by server postback. Connect the network in Vyrl, copy the postback URL, and paste it into the network's postback settings. Vyrl adds the network's sub ID parameter with its own click ID, so leave that parameter out of the affiliate link you paste. Guides: Impact, CJ, Awin, Everflow. For Amazon, you upload the Earnings report instead (how it works).
Then tap your own link and send a test conversion from the network. It should show in revenue within a minute.
4. Share only Vyrl addresses
Don't paste a network's raw affiliate link anywhere, including in DMs. A raw link skips Vyrl, so the sale can't be matched to a click or a video.
What to put on camera
- The word, on screen for a few seconds, in large text.
- One clear sentence: "It's on my page, vyrl.at slash yourname slash storm."
- Your disclosure. The FTC says a video endorsement needs the disclosure in the video, not just in text people may never see (FTC: Disclosures 101). See affiliate disclosure for videos.
What you'll see
The dashboard shows commission and earnings per click (EPC) by video, by link and by place. A video with 300 clicks and $45 in commission earns $0.15 per click. One with 2,000 clicks and $20 earns $0.01. Those numbers, not views, are what tell you which format to repeat.
There is also a live click feed, so you can watch a video start sending traffic, and a daily email with the previous day's revenue.
Your page is plain HTML with no JavaScript, served from an edge cache, usually under 50 KB. That matters on TikTok, where people tap through on phones with patchy signal. Pages set no cookies and load no third-party trackers.
Answering the comments
"What's the name of that?" is the most common TikTok comment. The "Ask me" assistant on your page answers from your video transcripts, cites the moment in the video, links only products you've confirmed, and shows your affiliate disclosure.
What Vyrl doesn't do
- It doesn't track TikTok Shop or Creator Rewards earnings. Those are reported inside TikTok.
- It doesn't replace your network's reporting. The network approves sales and pays you.
- Postbacks work with Impact, CJ, Awin and Everflow, and Amazon by report upload. Other networks still get click counts per video, but not sales.
- It doesn't sell your own digital products with a checkout.
Coming from Linktree? Paste your username and Vyrl copies your links (details). You can also run the free speed check on your current page.
Pricing
Free forever for one page, unlimited links and click analytics by link and source. Revenue per video, postbacks, the AI assistant and the daily revenue email are on the Creator plan: $4/month, or $3.20/month billed yearly in the US, and less in many countries. You keep 100% of your commission. See pricing.
Questions
How many followers do you need to put a link in your TikTok bio?
TikTok's Help Center says you need at least 1,000 followers or a verified business account. If the Links option doesn't appear in Edit profile, you don't meet the requirement yet.
Can I put a link in a TikTok caption?
Captions don't give you a clickable link to an outside website the way a YouTube description does. Your bio link is the main way off TikTok, which is why it needs to work hard.
How do I know which TikTok drove a sale?
Each click has to carry something that ties it to a specific video, and the affiliate network has to report the sale back with that click's ID. A plain bio link only tells you the click came from TikTok.
Does Vyrl track TikTok Shop sales?
No. TikTok Shop orders happen inside TikTok and are reported there. Vyrl covers sales from affiliate links people reach through your page.
